Operations Manager i Software 10.x Advanced

This advanced, modularized, instructor-led course is designed for technically experienced HP Operations Manager i (OMi) 10.x administrators and support personnel. It covers advanced concepts, principles, methodologies, and hands-on configuration of the OMi software and solutions. In addition, this training provides an opportunity for OMi administrators to learn how to extend the value of their current implementation using custom event handling and integration with other applications.The hands-on lab exercises in this course use BSM version 10.xx. At the end of the course, you should be able to:

Describe, configure and troubleshoot Configuration Item (CI) resolution Describe, configure and troubleshoot Event Type Indicators (ETI) resolution Describe, configure and troubleshoot the primary stages of the event pipeline Create new CI types and relationships Manually create and relate new CIs Customize the way information is processed and displayed in System Health (SH) Import third-party data using the Business Service Management (BSM) Connector Describe the features and operation of available BSM Connector (BSMC) integrations Create OMi custom actions Describe Closed Loop Incident Process (CLIP) and the primary deployment use cases Configure Lightweight Single Sign-on (LW-SSO) between BSM and Service Manager Configure incident exchange integration between OMi and Service Manager Configure integration between OMi and HP Network Node Manager i (NNMi) Troubleshoot issues with BSM and OMi Describe the features and use cases Monitoring Automation (MA) Provision nodes within MA and deploy monitoring to nodes and applications Create and deploy policy templates and management templates Describe the features of available management packs Use existing HP Operations Manager (HPOM) policies with MA Manage HP SiteScope monitoring with MA


Administrators of OMi 10.x, including:

  • At least one year of hands-on experience with OMi
  • Successful completion of the OMi 120 Essentials course
